The first classic hallucinogen indication being pursued in the United States is to treat existential and spiritual distress in cancer patients, a condition that does not respond well to existing medication. Sharing the table with author Daniel Pinchbeck, Brand gave thoughts on Donald Trump and Uber, then expressed that we are the source of the ayahuasca vision:
"The resources exist in human beings. Like the woman up there said. Ayahuasca is communicating through us. We, too, are divine goddess consciousness. It's in us all. We are it already. All we have to do is create the avenues for its expression through narrative."
