The Map That SHATTERS the Lie that Most Mass Shootings Are By Muslims

As you might have heard from your conservative friends who watch Fox News and are proposing that we reject Syrian refugees because of the massacre in San Bernardino that "most mass shootings are committed by Muslims."

Unfortunately for them, reality couldn’t be further from the truth.
Picture
As this timely map by the Washington Post indicates, only a tiny, minuscule, and negligible fraction of mass shootings last year were committed by Muslims:
In fact, only 3 out of hundreds of mass shootings in 2015 were committed by a Muslim suspect. Most were — you guessed it — committed by Christian males.

So why is the far right freaking out? Because they are pushing a xenophobic, Islamophobic, and bigoted agenda that seeks to create mass hysteria in order to justify enriching the military-industrial complex with massive government contracts.

We must not let them get away with it. Make sure that all of your friends see this important and fact-filled map.

NY Times Wonders Why there Aren't More Democratic Debates. We Know the Reason.

A December 17th New York Times story The Invisible Democratic Debates states, "For all their flaws and fakery, the Republican candidates have squared off frequently. But Hillary Clinton and Co. have been shamefully demure."

Democratic politicians complained, only to have received heavy-handed responses from Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, former co-chair of the Hillary Clinton 2008 presidential campaign. The lack of Democratic primary debates is a shame for our country and the honest democratic process that Democrats are supposed to uphold.

"What the campaign is about is a very radical idea. We're going to tell the truth."
In October, United States Representative Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), vice chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, said she was disinvited from the first Democratic presidential primary debate after she appeared on television and called for more debates.

Representative Gabbard said in an interview with CNN, "As you know, I've been pretty vocal about calling out for more debates. I've been
calling for more debates to give the American people the opportunity to hear from these presidential candidates to listen to what they have to say, to hold them accountable for their views and their positions.
NY Times: D.N.C. Officer Says She Was Disinvited From Debate After Calling for More of Them

Because that differentiated from the decision that the chairwoman (Debbie Wasserman-Schultz) made from the DNC, I was told that I was no longer welcome to come to the debate... the need and the call that the American people are having for more debates, for democracy, for increasing the engagement that we need in our society as we look to see who will lead our country into the future.
Martin O'Malley: "Totally unprecedented."
The thing that I'd really like to focus on is not one of personalities. It really is one of the issue at stake here, which is about democracy, it's about how our Democractic Party should actually represent democratic values."
While being booed at a rally in New Hampshire (video below), Wasserman-Schultz seemed to care more about, in her words, "drawing a contrast with Republicans" (i.e. polarizing) than representing democratic values.  She then says, "Walker seen to suggest building a barder wall with Canada. Maybe even right here
in New Hampshire!" A person this oblivious to her silliness should not be the chairperson of the Democratic National Committee. Wasserman-Schultz makes the party look bad and surely scares away independent voters.

Dec 18th: How the DNC Just Sabotaged Bernie Sanders’ Campaign in One Devastating Move

"As chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), Debbie Wasserman Schultz has spent the last 8 months using her position to put a lid on Bernie Sanders’ momentum. And after what was arguably the biggest week of the Sanders campaign, she may have finally succeeded. Late Thursday night, the DNC took the drastic step of cutting off the Sanders campaign’s access to its comprehensive 50-state voter file that lists voter patterns and preferences. The timing and severity of the decision is deeply suspicious as Sanders celebrated the most successful week of his campaign with major endorsements and record donations."

Interestingly, the Democratic Primary debate schedule and rules seem to favor the well-known establishment politician Hillary Clinton. Remember, Wasserman-Schultz was the co-chair of Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign.

Other candidates on the Democratic ticket, Martin O'Malley and Clinton's biggest rival, Bernie Sanders, weighed in on the debate flap:

                                  •  O'Malley                 •  Bernie

Wasserman-Schultz said she will punish any candidate who debates outside of the six official televised debates.

Wasserman-Schultz's hard stance on limiting the Democratic primary to only 6 debates is akin to leading champions of democracy to the slaughterhouse.

There really isn't a difference between Trump and Hillary Clinton, ideologically. Sure, he says stupid things to get votes from the far right crazies. However, he was the only candidate at the Republican debate who talked about needing to improve our infrastructure. When he's running for president he'll align with Clinton.

EMERGENCY: America's Broken Mental Health Infrastructure

We need a Bernie hero to lead us in a crucial time for America. Elizabeth Warren and Tulsi Gabbard, you're on deck.
