Democratic politicians complained, only to have received heavy-handed responses from Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, former co-chair of the Hillary Clinton 2008 presidential campaign. The lack of Democratic primary debates is a shame for our country and the honest democratic process that Democrats are supposed to uphold.
"What the campaign is about is a very radical idea. We're going to tell the truth."

In October, United States Representative Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), vice chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, said she was disinvited from the first Democratic presidential primary debate after she appeared on television and called for more debates.
Representative Gabbard said in an interview with CNN, "As you know, I've been pretty vocal about calling out for more debates. I've been |
calling for more debates to give the American people the opportunity to hear from these presidential candidates to listen to what they have to say, to hold them accountable for their views and their positions.

Because that differentiated from the decision that the chairwoman (Debbie Wasserman-Schultz) made from the DNC, I was told that I was no longer welcome to come to the debate... the need and the call that the American people are having for more debates, for democracy, for increasing the engagement that we need in our society as we look to see who will lead our country into the future.
Martin O'Malley: "Totally unprecedented."

The thing that I'd really like to focus on is not one of personalities. It really is one of the issue at stake here, which is about democracy, it's about how our Democractic Party should actually represent democratic values."

in New Hampshire!" A person this oblivious to her silliness should not be the chairperson of the Democratic National Committee. Wasserman-Schultz makes the party look bad and surely scares away independent voters.

"As chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), Debbie Wasserman Schultz has spent the last 8 months using her position to put a lid on Bernie Sanders’ momentum. And after what was arguably the biggest week of the Sanders campaign, she may have finally succeeded. Late Thursday night, the DNC took the drastic step of cutting off the Sanders campaign’s access to its comprehensive 50-state voter file that lists voter patterns and preferences. The timing and severity of the decision is deeply suspicious as Sanders celebrated the most successful week of his campaign with major endorsements and record donations."
Interestingly, the Democratic Primary debate schedule and rules seem to favor the well-known establishment politician Hillary Clinton. Remember, Wasserman-Schultz was the co-chair of Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign.
• O'Malley • Bernie
Wasserman-Schultz said she will punish any candidate who debates outside of the six official televised debates.
