Now...Let's flashback all the way back to April of 2015.
Chances are, even if you are a Bernie Sanders supporter now, you more than likely had no idea who he was in April of 2015. It's okay, a lot of us didn't then.
Bernie Sanders had just announced that he was running for President in April of 2015 and was only polling at 5% nationally at the time. His support then mainly rooted from his local support in Vermont and people who follow politics closely and would have known how incredible he is as a US senator; being the only current independent senator in the US Congress and always known to challenge the status quo.
Furthermore, many believed at the time that Hillary Clinton would run mostly unopposed. The polling numbers showed that too. She was polling at 69% of the Democratic vote then.
Heck, even Joe Biden was only polling at 11% and he is the Vice President of the United States.
Shown below is a screenshot of a CNN 2016 Democratic Nomination poll conducted from April 16-19th of 2015 that shows all of these numbers that I've been referencing.
To Summarize (April 16-19, 2015):
Hillary Clinton 69%, Joe Biden 11%, Bernie Sanders 5%.
Based solely on those numbers, who would have thought that any person could challenge Hillary Clinton for the Democratic Nomination in 2015.
Let me point out again, The Vice President of the United States is only polling at 11% nationally.
Americans have gotten sick and tired of the status quo. They are fed up with money in politics. They are tired of rhetoric and want actually change in our country. Bernie Sanders has been the candidate that can point out real changes that need to be made in our country.
America should not account for 25% of the world's prison population when we are only 5% of the world population.
Suicide should not be taking the lives of 105 Americans Every Single Day.
Health Care Should be Affordable!
And quite frankly, people do not trust Hillary Clinton.
Let's flash forward now to December of 2015.
Bernie Sanders has campaigned tirelessly for 8 months pointing out challenges that face most Americans, not just the interests of Wall-street.
Not only has he brought up these challenges, he has given actual plans of how he would address and fix these major problems facing our country.
According to the latest NBC poll conducted through the middle of December, Bernie Sanders has picked up 31% points, all the while Hillary has lost 13% of her base.
This is huge! And this is why Hillary Clinton's campaign is in trouble.
Not only is Bernie Sanders up 31% points, but he is up in key states holding a 14% lead over Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire, the second state the people will get to vote in.
Latest NBC Poll Results:
Hillary Clinton: 56%
Bernie Sanders: 37%
